SIMPLE AND PRACTICAL
The camp comprises of a number of accommodation facilities, cabins, bunk and dormitory rooms. The camp offers spartan facilities aimed at youth and sports groups, with mattresses only provided within four person bunk rooms.
The "Top Camp" comprising of the Top House, Main Kitchen/Dining & upstairs dorm and cabins can house 65, with the "Lake House" including kitchen and outdoor deck BBQ area having the ability to house 45. A total of 110 people can be housed in both camps.
Mangakino Water Sports Camp
The camp has been developed over a number of years to cater for youth, club and teams that require a no frills practical camp that allows them maximum time on the water. Mangakino Water Sports Camp venue has become a second home for a number of groups and has had its fair share of international representatives pass through the facility.
Along with rowers the venue also welcomes other water sports, budget weddings, family reunions, religious meetings, Māori unveilings and group functions.
It is a special quiet place, that allows people to focus in a pleasant cost effective environment.
The main dining area is open on one side during the summer and closed with a yellow canvas in the winter. This area is served by a large kitchen, with a walk in chiller, freezer, gas and electric range/ovens.
We also have a number of Concept 2 indoor rowers on site for fitness assessments.
We have three coach boats available, along with rowing skiffs, two doubles, a four, two eights and an octuple for hire for a small fee.
